Judging Criteria

  • Technical Difficulty
How objectively difficult were the technologies used to build the hack? Was it a combination of simple frameworks or something more challenging to master? Bonus marks for solutions requiring a niche skill set or immense background/domain knowledge.
  • Creativity
Was the problem solved something completely new or un-touched? Was the solution to it novel or innovative, regardless of the problem itself being common? Was the use of various technologies together creative or previously unseen?
  • Polish
Based on the problem they set themselves, how complete was their solution? We don't expect production-ready products, but we also don't want wireframes or slides either.
  • General Impressiveness
How impressed were you by the project, overall? If someone told you about this project, would you want to look into it further?
